Kourosh Eusebio is musician working in the medium of piano and synthesizer. He creates sounds variously described as relaxing and soothing, while gripping and hypnotic. Performed in an intense state of concentration, the music invites the listener into a meditation reflecting upon the mind’s natural ebbs and flows.
His studies began at five years of age and progressed by way of individual tutoring in the classical composers. Influences during this early period of musical development included Chopin, Bach, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff. In adolescence, he would also listen to and improvise around the music of the Beatles, Metallica, and Mike Patton. Later influences included Phish, Tool, Simon Posford, Bill Laswell, Pete Namlook, James Bernard, among others.
The pursuit of understanding the mind in sounds, symbols, and words is also reflected in his occupation as a psychiatrist. He presently maintains a private practice involving therapy, meditation, and medication management.
He is self-publishing a book describing the benefits and potential detriments of video games and virtual spaces called Video Game Play and Addiction: A Guide for Parents. Kourosh also maintains a blog titled Mind, Music, and Technology reflecting his thoughts of this unique intersection as he continues his path of artistry and healing through these media.
He has done score for short films, both recorded and live and has collaborated on work presented at the 4Arts Gallery, Landmark Art Gallery, the Fast Forward Film Festival and Chicago Indymedia. Music video/machinima collaborations with SL’s Sitearm Madonna include the tracks “Beast” and “Impart.”
Albums written and produced include:
* Turn of the Year EP (2008)
* Live at Red Rock (2007)
* Sky Lily (2007)
* Live at Bliss Garden (2007)
* Ontogeny (2005)
