Here is a picture of 'Virtually Live' island on the Open Life Grid.
The RAW file was made by Adec Alexandria.
The island will be the centre for many live events on the Open Life Grid and belongs to the 'Virtually Live Events' organisation - a cross-world project dedicated to bringing real music to different virtual worlds.

The 'Wicker Man' installation has put back my plans for the 'Particle Garden 2009'. I was hoping to have it ready for my rez-day on the 16th but that looks unlikely now. I am hopeful to be ready for the first week in November.
Then we will immediately steam full-on into 'The Wall V-3' rebuild, with the expectation that performances and filming can be started in December.
Am so looking forward to it!

As some of you may already know, CARP are intending to do a new version of 'The Wall', which, imaginatively, we are calling "V-3".
During Xmas/New Year, the plan is to perform a mega-show of 'The Wall V-3', 'The Rings' and 'Metropolis' back-to-back.
'V-1' was performed at Benvolio and the 4-sim venue at Havens Paradise.
The first 'V-2' was performed as the last gig at Havens then continued at New Media Consortuim (NMC).
For 'V-3', we… Continue

October sees both my third rez day and the second anniversary of my first public exhibit in SL: 'The Particle Garden'.
'The Particle Garden 2007' holds a special fondness for me because it was on seeing this exhibition that Vela and Josina invited me to join CARP.
'The Particle Garden 2009', short preview video below, is my contribution to celebrate two incredible years of CARP projects. As a team we have achieved so much; as individual artists none of us have been left unchanged.
This has b… Continue
Hat tip to Hamlet Au of New World Notes for pointing this out... See here for his full article and user comments
There has been talk of 3D meshes in SL for a while now.
Interestingly, when I originally brought my regions on OLG (Oct 2008) it was because this grid was heavily promoting that it would be soon™ be integrating realXtend open… Continue

Junivers Stockholm plays a live gig at Digital Dreambuilder'sAn Rath Theatre on the region of Merina on the Open Life Grid (OLG)
Saturday 22nd August @ 7pm UTC (8pm GMT). All welcome
OLG is still a young and developing Virtual World. Live concerts are still a rarity there (as is mens hair!) and this makes Juni… Continue
Awesome
The meaning of the word 'awesome' seems to have been diluted in more modern times and certainly in its informal and everyday usage.
'Awesome' is the adjective of the early modern English noun 'awe' which seems to have originally had a quite specific meaning:
"A feeling of fear and reverence" [emphasis added on the word "and"]
It was often used to express the emotion(s) felt on, for example, a… Continue

Stumbled across this site earlier tonight and thought some might find it of interest.
Its one of those sites that you'll either love or hate. Or be indifferent to.
You can upload pictures directly from your Flickr/Facebook site or your hard drive, select an MP3 (from their decent selection or upload your own) and it automatically generates a pretty cool slideshow. Each take just a few mins to create.
The free versions (that I have posted below)… Continue
Over last few days a number of people have asked how the 'Metropolis' machinima is coming on and when it will be released.
It will be released we think mid-August, a little later than planned.
In the meantime, I put together this short film of various clips which will be in the final machinima. The clips are a bit of a hotch-potch, to be honest, lifted from various chapters of the final film and strung together for this. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it and get a taste of what the full film w… Continue
Juni first recommended 'After Effects' to me a little over a year ago or so, saying that I would enjoy it.
For one reason and another, I didn't get around to learning it in any serious way. Occasionally I'd open it up, take a look around and be overwhelmed by 1) the complex workspace/user interface and 2) the sheer number of options avaliable.
But learning it was always on my 'List of Things To Do'. This week I decided it was time make a determined effort to get into it.
I have always conside… Continue
I have been working hard on the 'Metropolis' machinima, and estimate it is 80+% or so complete.
Tonight we film the 'Revolution' scene using avatars to replace the original muybridge animations. After this, the only big, time-consuming scene remaining is the workers walking up the stairs to be consumed by Molach. The rest will be plain sailing, I hope.
Having put it off for the last year or so, I have finally gotton around to learning Adobe 'After Effects' in earnest. Geez this is a complicate… Continue
As some of you know, I spend most of my time nowerdays on The Open Life Grid (OLG), only really going into Second Life (SL) for CARP work.
When I am in OLG am regularily asked "Are you same Debbie from SL?" or "Are you the Debbie in CARP?" or similar. Invariably somewhere in the conversation I will be asked "Will CARP be bring 'The Wall V-2'/'The Rings'/'Metropolis' (everyone seems to have… Continue
Thanks for attending the 'Gravitys Rainbow' and 'Fnordian Slip' celebrations at the weekend. The partying went on for more than 14 hours, with many avatars attending and avatars arriving and leaving right up until the end.
Our beloved 'Gravitys Rainbow' and 'Fnordian Slip' sims are now gone.
Three 'Lament' machinima's have been released to provide a lasting memory of our home. A fourth 'Lament' has been produced but it turned out far more personal and heartfelt than I had planned, and so for t… Continue
